  • Room Leader – The Bridge Nursery

    Permanent

    We are currently recruiting for a Nursery Room Leader in the High Peak area.

    The Bridge Nursery is a new adventure that is looking for a suitably experienced and personally motivated childcare practitioner willing and committed to building and shaping our first setting.

    The Bridge Nursery is committed to building ‘first communities’. We put our people at the heart of all we do; children, parents, carers and colleagues.

    This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner motivated to be part of the foundation of a new team.

    The successful candidate must hold a relevant Level 2/3 Childcare qualification, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience post qualification.

    As Room Leader, you will be expected to lead as part of a team and have the ability to work closely with other professionals. You will have great communication skills and be able to motivate and inspire.

    You will also be a skilled practitioner, having good knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage. You should be able to plan, implement and evaluate daily activities meeting young children's individual needs and plan next steps to support children's learning and development.

    Key Responsibilities:

    To lead curriculum delivery to your room. To work with the leadership team to implement and develop a curriculum that engages and inspires our young learners, whatever their age or development stage.

    To lead in the care and wellbeing of all the children in your given room.

    To supervise and support all room staff to ensure they fulfil their job role and adhere to policies and procedures.

    To act as a good example, to be supportive and consistent with all room staff to develop a strong and committed team.

    To keep yourself informed and educated on new legislation and changes in childcare practices and attend any training as required.

    To assist the management in developing positive working relationships with parents/carers and other external agencies.

  • Nursery Practitioner – The Bridge Nursery

    The Bridge Nursery is a new adventure that is looking for a suitably experienced and personally motivated childcare practitioner willing and committed to building and shaping our first setting.

    The Bridge Nursery is committed to building ‘first communities’. We put our people at the heart of all we do; children, parents, carers and colleagues.

    This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated practitioner to be part of the foundation of a new team.

    The successful candidate must hold a relevant Level 2/3 Childcare qualification.

    As Nursery Practitioner, you will be expected to work as part of a team and have the ability to follow the instructions of your Room Lead.

    You will be a competent practitioner, having good knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and safeguarding measures. Provide support to other nursery staff members, keep record of children’s progress for evaluation and sharing with parents/carers. Follow daily activities to meet young children’s individual needs and the next steps in supporting their learning and development.

  • Cook – The Bridge Nursery

    Permanent - 25 Hours per week

    We are currently recruiting for a Cook for our nursery in Whaley Bridge.

    The Bridge Nursery is a new adventure that is looking for a suitably experienced and personally motivated Cook willing and committed to building and shaping our first setting.

    The Bridge Nursery is committed to building ‘first communities. We put our people at the heart of all we do; children, parents, carers and colleagues.

    This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Cook to be part of the foundation of a new team.

    The successful candidate must hold a Food Hygiene Certificate L2. Safeguarding L2 (training will be provided if not already in place) and a clean enhanced DBS check. Previous experience within a childcare setting would be advantageous but not essential.

    As Cook, you will be expected to work independently and also as part of a team and have the ability to follow the instructions of the Nursery Manager.

    You will be a competent Cook who can run a kitchen that delivers high quality, nutritious meals and snack to all our children. Keeping our children well fed and watered for the busyness of their nursery lives. Engaging our children in the exciting world of food, providing them with varied food experiences and sometimes challenges. Maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene. Educating colleagues and our children; and their parents/carers about the exciting world of food.

    Key Responsibilities:

    The preparation and delivering of all meals and snacks in the nursery.

    The planning and deliver of a varied and nutritionally balanced menu, that changes with the seasons

    Provide meals that meet special dietary and cultural requirements

    Weekly menu planning and food shopping requirements

    Establishing (daily/weekly/monthly/annually) kitchen cleaning routines in line with good health and safety practices.

    Working with the Nursery Manager to establish and review nursery food budgets.

    Offering leadership, guidance and training to colleagues with regards to food preparation, delivery and hygiene.

    Offering educational opportunities for our children, in collaboration with nursery leaders, and guidance from the EYFS framework.

    Effective and efficient management of all kitchen related waste; taking consideration of our environmental impact.

    Maintaining all records relating to kitchen Hygiene, and general health and safety.

    Budgeting

    Working within the nurseries cashless systems.

    Working within nursery food budgets to deliver our offer to parents/carers.

    To developing and maintain positive working relationships with parents/carers.
